2 cottontail rabbits, cut for stewing (about 5 lbs. total)

¾ cup vegetable oil

2 quarts water

6 yellow onions, cut into halves

6 carrots, cut into 2-inch sections

1 tablespoon salt

1 can corn (15¼ oz.), drained
